Adelaide Container Terminal has confirmed that as of 1st July 2018 a Terminal Infrastructure Surcharge will be implemented on all containers moving through the terminal.
Additionally, Flinders Adelaide Container Terminal (FACT) has also sent notification of the introduction of a Container Weighing Charge (CWC) to apply to all import containers.
The CWC has been introduced due to the following as explained by FACT:
“The Container Weighing Charge relates to the use of two new eigh-in-motion weighbridges recording heavy vehicle axle weights. These weighbridges have been installed to enable FACT to comply with its ‘chain of responsibility’ obligations under National Heavy Vehicle laws.”
Please note the following new additional charges:
Adelaide Terminal Infrastructure Surcharge (TIF): AUD 37.50 per container
Adelaide Container Weighing Charge (CWC): AUD 17.00 per import container
The TIF will be applied to all import and export containers whereas the CWC will be applied to import containers only.
